The film begins with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) struggling with anxiety and insomnia after the battle of New York, which was depicted in "The Avengers." With the help of his trusty AI assistant, JARVIS, and his new friend, a young boy named Harley Keener (Ty Simpkins), Stark rebuilds his Iron Man suits and confronts Killian. The final battle takes place at a massive oil rig, where Stark must save the day and prevent the Extremis soldiers from wreaking havoc.
